Accommodations

Completely Furnished: Our home is completely furnished with all kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans, linens and towels.

Food: You may use whatever food is in the cupboards or refrigerator. We would request that all food and drinks be consumed only in the kitchen and dining room area and not in the living room or bedroom areas.

Cookware: There is a small non-stick frying pan which should not be used with cooking spray.

Washer/Dryer: You are free to use them. Do not run the dryer when you are not home. Please rinse out any clothing with sand prior to placing in the washer.

Towels: We have provided bath towels for each of the bathrooms. Beach towels are in the garage in a bin. Please do not take the bath towels to the beach.

Sand: Try to leave sand at the beach and use the showers at the beach. We also have a hose which can be hooked up to the outside faucet to rinse off shoes, sand toys, etc.

Sinks, Drains and Garbage Disposal: Sand and shells clog drains and ruin garbage disposals, so please try to avoid having those things end up in the sinks and garbage disposals. Also, please do not place bones, silverware, large amounts of vegetables peelings, etc. in the garbage disposal.

Internet: We have wireless access. The network is netgear82. The password is posted in the kitchen. If there is a connection problem, give us a call and we will have my mother reset the router which is in her condominium.

Cable TV: We have Cable TV and a Blu-ray DVD. There are three remotes in the top right hand drawer of the table upon which the TV is set. One is for the TV, one is for the cable and one is for the DVD. If you do not know how to use the remotes (ask your children) or see directions in the drawer.

Coffee Maker: We have a small coffee maker available for use. Please do not place directly under the kitchen cabinets as heat can damage the cabinets. Also, please clean up coffee spills immediately, as coffee can significantly stain countertops, sinks, furniture, rugs, etc.

Dining/Kitchen Tables: We have placed a thin piece of vinyl on the dining room table to prevent damage to its top. With regard to the small kitchen table, please use the placemats.

No’s: 1. No smoking. 2. No firearms. 3. No drugs or alcohol. 4. No candles. 5. No opening screens (it lets the bugs in).

Dickens’ Personal Items: Since this is our personal vacation home, there are some items which we keep here all year which are for only our use. Those items are kept in bins and marked personal.

Keys: We have provided you with two sets of house keys which include pool keys. The house keys include a key for the door lock (color coded) and a key for the deadbolt lock. Normally when we are there, we just use the door lock. When you leave, please leave the set of house keys with the pool key in the top right desk drawer in the kitchen. Please leave the other set of keys with my mother, Carol Dickens.

Thermostat: The Unit has both an air conditioning unit and a heating unit which use the same thermostat. When the Unit is not occupied the air conditioning is set for 80 degrees. You may set the air conditioning unit for 75 degrees when occupied. If you need to turn on the heating unit (which is highly unlikely) change the thermostat to heat and set the temperature at 70 degrees. When you leave the Unit to return home, please make sure the setting is set to air conditioning and set at 80 degrees. If you are going to open the windows, please turn the thermostat off entirely.

Garbage: There are two garbage receptacles, a waste bin and a recycle bin. All garbage must be bagged and tied. Due to the heat, the failure to do so can create significant odor, health, bug and sanitary problems. No uncontained garbage in the cans. Garbage is picked up twice per week, on Saturday morning and Wednesday morning. Recycle pick up is once per week on Saturday morning. The receptacles may be placed at the edge of the driveway any time after 6:00 pm of the night before the garbage is to be picked up. The receptacles should then be returned to the garage by 5:00 pm on the day the garbage is picked up. There is a garbage can under the sink, in the kitchen and in each of the bathrooms. Please have all food trash placed only in the trash can under the sink. Please always use trash bags in the trash cans. Do not leave food on the counters or throughout the house. Also, please empty the trash under the sink on a regular basis. The failure to follow these guidelines will result in problems with bugs and ants. If we have to hire the services of an exterminator to address problems arising due to the failure to follow these guidelines, you will be charged for the services with a minimum charge of $100.00. When you leave to return home, please see that all garbage in the Unit has been bagged and placed in the containers in the garage.

When you leave checklist: 1. Close all windows. 2. Set air conditioning to 80 degrees. 3. Bag all garbage in kitchen and bathrooms and place in garbage containers in the garage. 4.
